Important Information

We understand there is a lot of information needed before your hunt, and we are here to help navigate it all every step of the way. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

First Steps

Rates & Payment
Prices vary depending on type of trip and add-ons. During the booking process, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required, the remaining balance will be due 30 days prior to the hunt start date. Deposits and final payments can be paid by cheque or wire transfer.

Travel

Flying
All hunts will begin in Prince George, British Columbia. We will personally pick you up from your hotel the day before your hunt starts, as this is considered a travel day. Please be ready by 12pm, it is recommended to fly into Prince George the day before in case of any delays. Please be sure you have all the necessary documents and identification.

Driving
If driving, we can provide directions to camp. Please plan to arrive the afternoon before the start of the hunt. Be sure to have all the necessary travel documents at the border.

During Your Hunt

Policies & Waiver
At TX Outfitters, safety is our number one concern. All policies and hunter expectations are listed in our contract, and each hunter is required to sign a release of liability waiver prior to participating with us. Firearms safety and communication with your guide is top priority, regardless of your hunting experience - you are never to load your rifle until told so by your guide. Any misuse of firearms or violations of our policies will not be tolerated, and is up to the discretion of your guide and/or outfitter.

Meals & Accommodations
Accommodations may consist of heated cabins and home-cooked meals, or backcountry camping and cooking over the fire. We try to customize your trip to your desires. Wherever you are laying your head, we pride ourselves on making it a comfortable experience regardless. Visit our Accommodations page for more details. Meals will be prepared by either a designated cook or your guide, but rest assured they are delicious either way. Please advise us ahead of time of any allergies or dietary requirements so we can prepare in advance.

Caliber Selection & Rifle Choice
Rifle and caliber selection varies slightly depending on species. Our preference is a rifle that you are confident and comfortable with, as accuracy is most important. Typically, a rifle in the .30 caliber range is ideal for big game in Canada.

Wounded Game
Although rare, unfortunately for this business it is possible. As stated in your contact, wounded game requires the cancellation of your species tag as well as any fees attached to that animal. Our guides avoid this at all costs, and aim to get you as close as possible, in order to make successful and ethical shots.

Final Steps

Care & Transport
Our guides take extreme care in preparing your animal for its final destination. All skulls will be cleaned thoroughly, and hides will be skinned, caped, salted and dried by your guides. After the hunt, we can deliver your animal to a taxidermist, or if you have a preferred business in your hometown, they can be shipped at the hunters expense.
